1U & 3U Eurorack Modules • Erica Synths Bassline Module Tuning Issue

Hi

I just picked up an ES Bassline Module and am finding the tuning behavior strange, so I wanted to see if this is normal or an issue with the module.

If I have all the settings turned counterclockwise, except the VCA Envelope and Filter is all the way clockwise, it goes into drone mode as expected. With nothing patched into the 1v/oct input, the lowest pitch (all the way counterclockwise and no sub) is a slightly sharp A4. If I plug a dummy cable into the 1v/oct, the pitch immediately drops to well below audio range (I can hear a clicking like in LFO range), and I'll have to turn the Tune dial up to about 10 o'clock to reach C0. I have no other oscillators that behave this way.

If I then connect the 1v/oct cable to a cv source (in this case, the ES Drum Sequencer), with its default pitch set to C0#, and the Bassline tune is all the way counterclockwise, it shows on my tuner as a semi-flat D1. So it's not possible to turn the Tune dial any lower to reach what the sequencer says it is sending.

So without fiddling with the tuning screw, in order to check tracking, If tune the Bassline to C2# (with the CV source sending C0#), and then change the CV up 1 octave, the Bassline puts out a semi flat D3 (instead of C3#), then one more octave up = semi sharp D4 (instead of C4#), and a 3rd octave up = D5# (instead of C5#). So the tracking is not accurate, but maybe this is acceptable tolerance?

So my question is:
1. Is placing a dummy cable in the 1v/oct input supposed to change the pitch? If that is normal behavior, then in order to get bass out of this thing, I have to keep a dummy cable patched (or connect it to a cv source), otherwise the lowest it can go is A4.
2. If this is normal behavior, should I just play with the tiny brass tuning screw next to the Tune dial until it's pitch matches what my CV source says it is sending?
3. Are those tracking numbers within tolerances (the manual says it has "great 1v/0ct tracking" up to 9 octaves)?
