They are fun tips for making music but not essential. I must say I am strongly against (6) bringing in or dropping out a sound every 8 bars. This is the most boring thing possible. Ride the mutes and faders live and change things when the inspiration takes you. Stuff like drexciya is all over the place with lengths of sections and things coming in and out halfway through a bar etc. I also love the rule of two which states: never bring in or drop out a single sound. Either bring in two sounds at once or bring in one and drop out another at the same time. Still really simple but makes it less obvious to the listener exactly what's happening. ![:ponytail:]( ":ponytail:")
