Yes and the other thing is instrument definitions. For me an area it still seems unbeaten in - but please do correct me if I'm off, as I'd love to know all the options out there - is that the Cirklon supports really long patterns. Near infinite in CK patterns, and 256 (16 steps8 16 bars) in P3 patterns. Oh, and it has a massive track count too.The Cirklon was the only real game in town when it came out, in particular when it came to the magic combination of rock solid timing, MIDI, CV expansion, and step sequencing. HOWEVER...a lot has changed in the past 10+ years. Today I use a HAPAX which is mind bogglingly more powerful and easier to use than a Cirklon (or even a Pyramid). If your expectations are more in line of a polyphonic sequencer you will probably find the Cirklon to be more frustrating than fun. The most fun I had with the Cirklon was when I used it for monophonic bassline duties. Even something like drum programming is so much more intuitive and fun on a grid style sequencer.
(I'm not picking on the Cirklon here, it really was the absolute best sequencer for many, many years, but over the past 5 years a host of really good sequencers have come to market that may not be 'better' than the Cirklon but which are definitely more capable for certain types of music composition/live jamming.)
