Sequencers are very personal devices and it's really hard to tell someone else what will work for them. I had the MAQ 16/3 for a long time as well as the Sequentix P3 and Cirklon (and Notron and QY 700 and OXI One and probably a dozen others lol). What I ended up keeping over the time was the Koma Komplex and the Schrittmacher for step sequencing kinds of things and the Hapax for more detailed work. They just work best for the way I think and the gear I have.
Certainly plenty of people like the GRP format and approach, so the comment was not meant to denigrate the R24. In any case grabbing the manual and watching some videos is a good way to initially explore how a sequencer works and how it might (or might not) fit into your setup, but really, until it's in your setup and you try to use it regularly, you don't fully know if it's the right one for you.
