I never owned Marbles. But over the years, I read the manual multiple times and had no easy time to decide if I should buy it or not. In the end I always came to the same conclusion.
My impression was that it somehow seems to urge the user into a specific direction. It almost feels like a composition. I thought that some people perhaps have no clue about the music they want to make, so they buy a module to fix this… Sorry for expressing my personal impression, this is not a bashing of Marbles users, but only the reason why I personally decided against it.
I am working for quite some time now with Sapèl, it has rich possibilities, saves a lot of utilities by being really well thought-thru, and it absolutely does what I want.
But there is not only random, there is also chaos! Not wanting to make your decision process more difficult, but maybe modules like Addac508 Swell Physics or Vult Caudal are something for you?
