1U & 3U Eurorack Modules • Re: Today my small discovery was...

.. the bat detector I bought after moving to an area of heavily wooded countryside, goes nuts when the bats (Pipistrelles, Daubentons) come out around dusk. The eirie sounds are like something from a 60's sci-fi movie. Amazing creatures.

The Bat Detector homes in on the autolocation frequencies that bats produce. They are all above the range of human hearing (35 - 65 khz) , but the bat detector renders those frequencies audible.

The species of bat can be identified by its auto location frequency.
That's beautiful, would like to hear the audible freq of the pipistrelles auto location at work. I often see bats at dusk flashing about the trees, a completely mesmerising moment
