I do have a cable that is type B to C, but in this particular situation, it's not just about cable compatibility; it's more about streamlining the setup for convenience. To make this work, I would need to find a USB Type-C "board" (I'm not sure if that's the correct term, as I'm not a modder) and replace the Type-B connection?! This would involve some soldering to integrate the Type-C (PD + data). Based on your experience, do you think this approach would be feasible?
I know it is physically possible; I am just concerned about the compatibility of making this change. In this particular machine, this port serves three functions: 1. power supply, 2. sending audio via USB, and 3. receiving audio via USB. However, as you mentioned, it still involves Power Delivery and data.
As for the hole, I plan to use a piece of plastic to cover the remaining space. With some effort, I believe it could look clean, and switching to USB-C would be much more convenient for me.
