So the servo amp feedback diode appeared again in another circuit from Scott Gravenhorst as one of his PAIA Fatman modifications.
This got me thinking about it again. It think perhaps it’s only purpose is to clamp negative swings in the event the summmed CV’s has a large enough negative potential to drag the entire expo below zero. V/Oct is unipolar but with some combination of bipolar CV inputs a condition can arise where the pitch control can be negative and since we aren’t dealing with a Through Zero circuit we don’t want this, and the diode prevents it.
