It certainly should, but so many modules and systems drop that particular ball. In psychology the theory of "Affordance' looks at the extent to which objects make it clear from their appearance how a person should interact with them.Form follows function.
A modular rack with high Affordance should be intuitive to use - but I guess there are downsides.
For instance, a rack with modules arranged to support 'east coast' or 'west coast' patching, may re-enforce a standardised approach, over experimentation.
I guess that's one of the great benefits of Modular Grid - you can visualise this or that arrangement of modules in your rack, without having to physically install them.
