I don't agree with replacing everything with CR2032, it's a cheap and cheerful solution but the discharge profile is going to be different to the original battery. It's possible to get holders for BR-2/3A from Farnell, RS, etc., problem is they dont mount in the same way as the battery with tags so require a bit of extra work to get them on the board. Good thing is that there is usually ample space to do this.
