I was having this thought today since I started using my keystep again with my 7u 84hp euro rack. I don't use any capacitive touch modules for a couple of reasons - a. i don't like them, b. my house is old and has bad grounding so they don't usually work anyways. the keystep is no exception on either account.
I've only opened up my keystep once a long time ago, i can't even remember why but I remember things looking pretty flimsy there
I wonder if anyone has thought about replacing the mode strip and pitch strip with a real modwheel? or maybe even done it. it would be such a huge upgrade!
if there was a unit that would fit, could run on 5v, and put out -5/+5 or so, maybe just give it it's own cv outpout and put an attenuator next to it where the pitch strip is?
