I love the Oto Bim and it's the only non-modular delay I've got that isn't a tape delay (have 4 of those). I'm a big fan of the Martin Hannett delay sound (in particular Joy Division's Closer and the first two New Order singles) and the Bim gets me to that area. big downside for me is that you can't back up your saved patches (not even via midi) as I was considering getting a second as a backup and transferring the patches to to it but per email with Oto that's not possible. I've got a few patches that I made accidentally when I thought the device wasn't operating properly that are beyond the normal delay time range but managed to save them as presets.
I was searching OTO BIM vs alternatives and read this thread with interest, but your comment referencing Martin Hannett, Joy Division and early New Order has swung the balance in favour of BIM I think.

I have BOUM already and yeah the UI can be a bit of a pain, but it's not really that bad and I like to twist knobs and hear the output mostly, not too fussed about 'correct settings' or anything. Vibe is king!
