Hm, tested a bit yesterday and trouble getting 4p bandpass reso going as well... 2bp worked and my asymmetrical thing too. not sure what i'd need to change ATM and not math savvy enough to do this by reasoning alone... used a pole mixing app to have this visually in front of me and noticed that the phase angle is much steeper on 2bp and my asymmetrical thing. could be related to this, i guess (and explain that 2pole bp and my 1pole+4pole mix need much less signal for reso to have effect).
leftmost 1pole out + 4 pole out; middle 2pole bandpass, right 4pole bandpass

Will keep at it and see if there's anything in it. At least you'd have two types of reso going with that switch 4p lp reso and pole mix.
