I met Dwayne Rudolph Goettel with the rest of the band at their after-party during the Too Dark Park tour at the NYC gig. It really broke my heart when he passed and it still bothers me to think of it because in the few hours that I was able to speak with him I saw a real kindred soul with him. He was such a down to earth and thoughtful person. For me that was the day SP died and was never the same again. It’s great they kept on trucking as long as they have and major props to them for having that stick-to-it-ness.I remember being devastated around 1995 when Skinny Puppy broke up the first time. (Still stings a little since they've been gone a year now.)
Back then it was constant SP for me with FLA, Mentallo & the Fixer, Leaether Strip, Ministry, Front 242, etc.
Speaking of sad losses Leaether Strip lost Kurt a few years ago and Claus is still carrying on without him nowadays and churning out really fresh material despite his loss. I really admire him for keeping on trucking.
