Hi. All. Well. Just picked up my Solar 42F Yesterday. Fired it up and found it is much harder to use than I thought. It was making all sorts of strange sounds .. Couldnt get the sound to be smooth on no 1. Was so lumpy I thought I had a bad machine. Also tuning the five occilators was difficult and the rise and fall of the tuning process was not as pronounced as on demo vids. Anyway with much fiddling I managed to get a reasonable result. Also very handily I stumbled across The excellent begginers guide by Jonathan Knightsnare, and was able to hear for the first time my machine in a very basic way, and I could hear that it sounded the same as mine so felt more confident that there was nothing wrong with my machine. More vids like this would be very helpful, so thank you Jonathan. Biggest crit for me is the tuning re. the pots are tight to turn and not enough room allowed for somthing that has to be done often. Other than that it is a beautiful thing to behold and with patience from me will make me very happy indeed.
