I was thinking the same thing before I purchased my es9 as it’s getting pretty old now but after having it for a few months I’d say they don’t really need to update it as it just works. I use it with Max, vcv and ableton without issues. Easy to sync clocks, triggers and run audio in and out at the same time.

I dove into the app right away which is kind of the only negative before realizing later there was no need as the defaults are all you need in most cases.
Thank you! So I assume I will easily be able to send v/oct., gate, and control voltages with it from any software by just directing the cv to the ES-9 usb port from my computer? I have so many CV players in Reason that I want to use so I'm hoping I can do it from within Reason as well.
sorry for the late response. regarding sending CV out of apps like reason, Ableton and max there are instances where you may need to run a calibration plugin to get accurate v/oct. for instance in Abelton there is a free package called CV tools, they are small devices you put on your track to pre calibrate the oscillators so the midi converts to v/oct properly. In max I just patched my own. In vcv there are some free plugins that do it but also I think it kinda just works without anything else - search Omri Cohen youtube for some videos where he goes in depth about that integration. I'm not familiar with Reason so I'd check the manual there. Expert sleepers makes a set of VST's to do this as well and I think there is a free version but not sure. regardless I did lot of research and couldn't find anything close to the ES-9. By far the best hybrid setup option.
