I'm not sure this is always true: my Maths (purchased 2014) always starts with the cycle on, and when I recently got a Function from a fellow wiggler, I was given the option of one that started cycle on, and another that starts cycle off (I asked for cycle on at power-up to match my Maths).
Only weird thing to me is that Maths always starts with cycle off but Function always starts with it on.
