Always better to play the machine yourself. I am still debating whether to sell my Engine or not. I just sometimes think I don't really need the power of two G2's.Sorry for ghosting this thread, but things escalated quickly. I found a local seller that offered a G2 Engine for a very good price (as far I can tell). I actually didn’t plan to buy it so soon - but I took this for a sign of the synth gods for me to take up on. Thanks, @ersatzplanet for your kind offer, but it was such a relief to be able to inspect the synth in person.
Since you can use more than one reverb, it is fun to sometime stack them or run them in series with other modules, using a reverb to a delay and into a reverb again, stuff like that.I’ve been checking out some of the community patches so far to see what the synth is capable of and it’s pretty wild. The one thing I’m not yet entirely sold on is the FX section - especially the reverb - which I suspect might be the reason why some people call it too “digital” sounding, compared to the G1. But the other additions are amazing and the editor is so much nicer to work with. Right now I’m honestly blown away by this synth, it sounds more… “cinematic” than the G1 and I always considered the G1 to be the best purchase I've made.
But I’ll definitely have to get a Midi controller for the Engine. The Faderfox is a bit to pricey for me atm, but it will be the next thing I’ll get. One probably stupid question that occurred to me is if it’s working well to connect a keyboard and a Faderfox together to the G2 Engine?
Here is a link to my stash of G2 patches, many scrubbed off the net. You will undoubtably find duplicates. I tried to organize them at one time, but gave up on it. There are thousands of files there - https://www.dropbox.com/sh/qtiirwk94l84 ... QQ_Ta?dl=0
