It has the 227e swirl thing and also a very cool CV thing that can be routed in the matrix and be used for Pan / Amp.

The matrix mode can be used in mono, stereo, dual stereo, triphonic and quadraphonic configurations.
The radar mode is my favorite, it allows you to control the amplitude, azimuth (direction/spatial coordinate), bell (range of width), and roll (rate of auto panning), like a quad scan and pan.
To date, the 228e is the ultimate 200e mixer module. However, some of the functionality could be matched (to a certain extent), with two Buchla 200e mixers and a third module for voltage control/modulation.
