I took the incomplete GitHub and am in the process of finishing out my version of the E951, building the missing OLED PCB and Jack PCB. The Jack PCB is being changed from the original (not on GitHub) to use Thonk jacks and my first layouts of those PCBs are on the way from JLCPCB via DHL Express.
The front panel is in black aluminum with white silk screen. I have revised it from my first try which had the wrong font, the 2 mounting holes in the top in the wrong place, and the hole for the display being slightly too large. Now it has the correct font and the logo on it. Why black? I can very easily order 5 at a time from JLCPCB as "Aluminum PCB" in either black or white with silkscreen on them and they get here quickly. I have 2 versions mocked up that are in the fab process at JLCPCB - one sized for Doepfer jacks if you can get your hands on one of the PCBs for the original and one sized for Thonk jacks for the PCB I'm creating.
I'm waiting on different pots (shipped today, arrives tomorrow - Mouser FTW!), the knobs (scheduled for Thursday), more OLED displays, and more goodies. When I can't find any more affordable NKK switches, I'll be recreating the switch PCB to use something different. Tayda has switches in the exact same form factor, but Daaaaaaaymn.... they take a huge amount of force to activate - no good for this module.
I've been posting about doing this over on Reddit (/u/channelmaniac) and Facebook.
Here's a pic of the finished first build using pots I had on-hand... not the correct shaft for the proper knobs and it has the first layout I attempted which is the wrong font, no logo, the top two mounting holes down too far, and the opening for the display is slightly too large.
