A quick search shows the chip isn't an amplifier, it's an all in one stereo audio codec with ADC and DAC. May not be that straightforward - detailsI have just had the same problem. I have taken it apart (with a lot of difficulty as the pub is glued onto the chassis). I located what I believe is the amplifier unit for the output. It is a chip called SGTL5000. I am going to prod it with a multimeter tomorrow and try and replace it if it does turn out to be the problem. I will keep you posted on my progress and I will document and post my attempt at a repair if I am successful. Watch this space!!
