again, the hats are defo better, the other sounds are just closer to the original 808, but a matter of taste between the tr-08 and the Behringer.... I may have to look into the Behringer though if the sound is that much better.
what makes it better is the rest basically. interface, size and so on.
talking about interface (and back on topic), I prefer this than a perfect replica. I am not deluded in believing having nearly no possibility of programming my own rhythms or having no control on individual part volumes (as per the original) would make ''the experience better'' in this situation.
I want those sounds. Roland was always great at making drum machines that were coherent soundwise. having them blending nicely (I am looking at you, korg analogue snares...). coupling an analogue CR-78 soundset with a XoX programmimg interface can only be a plus in my book. and no, the TT-78 didn't do it for me. the sounds were not close enough (sometimes way off, as in the Kick for example.)
as others said, patiently waiting for demos...
