But, further troubleshooting today I discovered that the issue was being cause by a redundant setting in my DAW and not the ES-9 or configuration tool. It looks like I need to set CV outputs in 2 different places with BitWig. One in the HW CV OUT tool and ALSO in the mix channel. I had the HW CV OUT tool configured properly, but back in the mixer board, it the signal was set to Master output which is my ES-9 L/R output.Yes, sorry for the confusion. I should have said that I'm sending out of the DAW using ES-9 outputs #9-16 (which are the outputs labelled #1 thru #8 on the ES-9 panel). I see the output properly appearing (red/blue jack light) out of the ES-9 #1 jack, but I'm also hearing "cv thumps" out of the 2 Main L/R outputs of the ES-9.
Not sure why I need to set this twice in 2 different places in Bitwig, but I'm learning this DAW. So glad it was a simple setting fix!
